Yes, I do live in a vineyard!

Well, I make quilts, and my husband and I live in a vineyard in southern California, just north of San Diego. So, "Quilts from the Vineyard" seemed like an appropriate name for my online business.

I am a designer and engineer at heart. I develop patterns, quilting tools and rulers, and innovative piecing techniques. Storm at Sea quilts are my specialty, and I wrote a book on the subject, published by C&T: A New Light on Storm at Sea Quilts

Teaching is my passion, and I just love to get a group of quilters in a classroom. Six-hour workshops are great, but even better is a 2 day (or longer) retreat. Or teaching on a cruise ship, which is what I will be doing March 7-15 this year and October 5-12, 2027.  Come on a quilting cruise with me! Check out Stitchin' Heaven travel.

News from the vineyard: The Viogner and Sangiovese vines are all pruned, and the Malbec is nearly done. There is new, lime green growth popping out on all of the vines. Our nesting kestrals are back, and last night I heard the pair of Great Horned owls hooting back and forth. A feeling of spring is in the air!

Blogging is new to me, so this one will be short. I'm still packing for that cruise and adding patterns to my website. I'll leave you with this thought:

Try not to quilt and whine, just try quilting with a little wine.
